Bash & Pop Info Album
In September, Replacements and Guns N' Roses bassist Tommy Stinson revealed that he had revived his Bash & Pop project for their first new album since 1993. Stinson has now unleashed "On the Rocks," the brash first single from that upcoming LP Anything Could Happen, in the form of a lyric video that cleverly combines iPhone text messaging with live Bash & Pop footage and behind-the-scenes video.
"'On the Rocks' is one of the first songs that I penned for this record in the rock department," Stinson said in a statement. "I've been writing a whole bunch of stuff over the last few years, and this is the one that I decided was going to be sort of the lead-in kind of song as far as how the record is going to sound."
Along with the "On the Rocks" video, Stinson also unveiled the Anything Could Happen track list. The album, the long-awaited follow-up to 1993's Friday Night Is Killing Me (which is also getting a vinyl reissue), is due out January 20th.
Stinson previously announced a PledgeMusic campaign, where people can preorder both the reissue and the new album. He's offering plaid suits, bass guitars, a basement Bash and Pop concert and even his services as a wedding officiate as incentives to give money. Some proceeds from that campaign will be donated to Timkatec trade schools in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
